A free virtual workshop from Oregon Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts covering the legal tools available to help artists, designers and other creatives establish their work as an actual business. The session walks through LLC formation, registering a business with the State of Oregon, financial fundamentals such as separating personal and business accounts, and the licensing and contract basics that most independent creatives learn the hard way. Aimed at freelancers, studio founders and anyone moving from side work to a real practice, with time for questions at the end. The session will be recorded with participant consent so registrants can revisit the material.
